Hoot
New kid, Roy Eberhardt, never looked out of the window. If it wasn't for Dana Matherson, none of this probably would have happened.
A strange boy was running along the bus as if trying to catch it. He had straw blond hair and nut-brown skin. But the strange part was: He wasn't wearing shoes.
A new Mother Paula’s pancake store is under construction, the lives of owls are at stake. Roy meets Beatrice Leep, and the strange boy, and he gets roped into an strange adventure, to save owls.
When Mother Paula’s construction site is struck by pranks, like sticks were conveniently placed in construction areas, alligators appeared in the Port-A-Loo, sparkly tailed snakes running after dogs and a police car was painted black, the workers are on a mission to find out who it could be after these vandalisms.
They're too well planned for kids, so they figured someone must have a grudge against Mother Paula, but who?
Roy, Beatrice and the strange boy are on a quest, but can they do it, before it’s too late?
WHY I LIKED THIS BOOK
I really liked this book because it was full of adventure and very funny as well. I loved the characters and how the bullies were made mean, but not evil, the main characters adventurous, but still scared off and on, and how all the roles fit together really well.
I also really liked the way everything fit together at the end; from the owls, to the vandalisms, even to sparkly snakes!
I definitely recommend reading this book; if you like funny, adventurous, smart and well-written books, then, this is 100% THE book for you!
I love that there are many characters as well; like Roy Eberhardt, Beatrice Leep, Dana Matherson, the boy, Officer Delinko, the head worker Chuck Muckle, and Curly the worker, but still none of them become any less important or lose any character!
It has a well-built structure, good character, amazing plot and overall it's a really awesome book which I would read a million times.
For me the rating is 10 out of 10.
